Termite infestations affect all kinds of buildings and feeds from there, particularly targeting wood. Once food is found, they alert the rest of the termite colony and begin eating away at the infrastructure. Having the correct pest control measures in place will eliminate your termite infestation.
Treatment for termite infestations requires professional assistance from qualified personnel. An inspection of your property is done, and the affected areas are correctly identified where treatment is required. Holes are then drilled at about 1 meter apart around the perimeter of the structure into the foundation. Termite chemicals are then pumped into the holes and thereafter the holes are sealed with cement.
Unlike wood termites, Subterranean Termites are found below the surface and not noticed very quickly. These Termites grow to millions and consume materials found in wood.
As a result of the wood being eaten from the inside, the damages are very difficult to detect and often the damage is only found once the wood is fairly destroyed. They eat the inside of wooden skirtings, furniture and floors, and protect themselves from the open air with mud, resulting in them remaining hidden.
These types of termites are commonly found in your lawn or garden. They comfortably nest within the soil. Highly active during the day, eating and taking food into their nests. These termites can also be found in the foundation of houses or common buildings, however not as common as the Subterranean Termite.
This type of termites is found in dry wood and does not require soil.
Damp wood Termites
This type of termite eats away the grain of wood and eats moist, decaying wood. These are also not usually found in soil; and they do not make tunnels like subterranean termites do.
